9 months old!

Jesse, time is FLYING by!  You are 9 months old!!

These past 9  months went much faster than either pregnancy and much faster than Asher’s first 9 months of life.  Life is just plain BUSY with two kids.  Most nights we collapse into bed and sometimes I have the fleeting thought, “How am I going to do it all over again tomorrow?!”  Thankful that (truly) His mercies are NEW every morning.  Of course, that is not to say that I don’t love, love, love my boys… it’s just an exhausting season of life.  :)

Perhaps it’s how FAST these last 9 months went that I can hardly believe we went from this to this to THIS!

Overnight you have gotten SO big!  You are pulling up on everything and going everywhere.  You have not started ‘cruising’ and you’re not even that steady on your feet yet, but I’m sure that will come quickly now that you trying so hard to stand up.

You are sleeping pretty well!  Teething threw you off a bit this month.  But typically you go down about 7pm and sleep through the night (most nights).  You nap twice a day.  You’ve come a loooooong way from your no-nap/short nap early days.  Yippee!

You like to eat and are enjoying more and more finger foods.  You love cheese, ham, pasta, peas, and toast.  You also like lots of different fruits cut up into small pieces, along with your usual fruits and veggies baby food, oatmeal and yogurt.  You eat three meals a day and nurse 4-5 times a day.

You are wearing size 6-12 clothes, size 4 diapers, and I think a size 3 or 4 shoe (not that you keep shoes or socks on your feet!)

Jesse you are so cute and sweet and smiley!  You love Asher and think he is hilarious.  You laugh and laugh when he talks or plays with you.  Lately you guys have started wrestling – I stay close to make sure no one really gets hurt, but you both love it.  You make ‘friends’ everywhere we go with your big smiles.  You are definitely a charmer.

Jesse, I think you just might be the wiggliest baby I know.  When you are happy you squirm and wiggle with your WHOLE body – seriously, we have to hold on tight so you don’t wiggle out of our arms.  You rock and sway and just MOVE so much that holding you can be a work-out! 

Other than fussy moments, you are quite laid back and not too much of a ‘talker’ yet… you say Mama (a lot) and Dada (sometimes).  You like to wave and clap your hands.  You also give big slobbery kisses, which might just be a chance for you to chew on our cheeks, but I like to think you are being sweet.  :)

You have three teeth and one more that is SO ready to pop through.  I keep checking to see if it’s come yet.  Teething is not our favorite past time… I hate watching you in pain!!  I do love your little toothy grin though; it is TOO cute!

Jesse, you are still army crawling everywhere – you continue to get up on all fours and rock and will crawl for a few seconds before dropping back down to your tummy and scootching that way.

We’ve had so many chances to be outside this spring and you LOVE it!  Being in your swing is one of your favorite places!  The other day you happily played in your pack and play while we worked in the garden. 

I can hardly believe where the past nine months have gone.  Every now and then when you stop what you’re doing and look up at me I think, “who is this BABY?” as I wonder where my cuddly newborn has gone.  When I look through old pictures from before you were born I find myself forgetting what life was like before we had you.  You have complemented our family so perfectly!  We are so very crazy about you.  My heart just about bursts when I see you laughing at your brothers silly antics or when he comes over by you on the floor to ‘play’ toys together.  It is my prayer that you two will always be best friends! 

Jesse, we are so thankful that God saw fit to give you to us.  Happy 9 months old, sweet boy!  We love you so much!
