We just wrapped up a busy stay-cation Spring Break! :) We got lots done around the house and yard and even though it’s fun to go away, we were thankful for a full week to relax, get work done, and have some fun!
Priority #1: Potty Training!! We attempted it a few months ago, but quickly realized it just wasn’t working. This go-around was SO MUCH BETTER! I was never a believer in the whole “Wait until they’re ready” suggestion… but NOW I am!! Asher took to Potty Training like a champ. He caught on quickly, but we pretty much camped out at home for three days. We’re SO proud of Asher!! Good job, buddy!
Priority #2: House & Yard projects! We had a whole list of tasks for the yard… First on the list was the sandbox!! Chris did an awesome job converting the bottom of the playset (Which was probably a sandbox a long time ago) back into a fully functioning sandbox. Asher loooooooves it.
“Thanks, Daddy!! You’re the best!!”
Next on the list was weeding and clearing out the garden. We hope to till it soon and then get planting!
Thankful for gorgeous weather for working outside and for cooperative kids who played happily while we worked!
This last picture just makes me smile – I love seeing Jesse playing in his pack and play and Asher playing in his sandbox. It was a day full of hard work, but I have a feeling that someday I’ll look back at this picture and remember how sweet life was with two little boys playing in the backyard. :)
Chris was a good sport and helped me with some projects for inside our house, too! Half-way through one project in particular he was not too thrilled with pinterest. ;) SO thankful for a handy and helpful husband!
Priority #3: HAVE FUN! It was really fun to have Chris home for a full week! I put him to work on lots of little household projects and wishlists… but we also wanted to make sure we scheduled in some fun, too! There was lots of time for playing outside and just hanging out…
Also, We went to Cincinnati to visit family on Thursday and Friday. Thursday we went to IKEA with Liz and Coralaine…
and Friday we went to the Newport Aquarium with Grandma and Grandpa and Liz and Coralaine (Uncle Joel had to work, but we missed him!) Asher has been talking about the aquarium for days and days. He was SO excited he could hardly sleep Thursday night (literally). So despite being a little bit sleepy on Friday we had an awesome time!
Asher and Coralaine were enamored with the…
Asher had a hard time posing in front of the sharks… had to keep one eye on the sneaky creatures!
One exhibit had an enormous crocodile named, “Mighty Mike” – somehow Asher dubbed him Uncle Mike, which didn’t sound too funny to us since Chris and I both have Uncle Mikes. :)
It was a “No Stroller” day at the aquarium so Jesse rode along. :) He was a great baby and loved all the new things to look at!
Thanks again, Grandma and Grandpa!
Spring Break officially ended with Easter, and I’ll post those pictures soon!
