We had a fun week at my parent’s cabin! I’ve been going to the cabin my whole life, Chris has been coming for the last 10 years, it was Asher’s third time at the cabin and Jesse’s first! I’m glad that a place that is so special to me is becoming a part of my boys’ earliest memories too!
We were the first ‘kids’ to arrive so the boys had some time with Nana and Papa before their cousins arrived. Of course, they loved every minute with them. :)
Asher’s ‘rest’ time on the porch – not too shabby!
Jesse checking everything out!!
The red building is actually my dad’s new-ish garage but it’s so pretty with it’s bright red paint and Swedish and US flags!
The fire pit… This year we made S’mores (obviously) and tried Twix smores (add caramel, leave out the marshmallows) They were SO yummy!!! My sisters tried the banana boats… but I’m too much of a purest to try them. If fruit is involved it’s no longer dessert as far as I’m concerned. ;)
Evening sun glistening on the lake…
Reading books and looking out at the lake.
Love that big sunburst behind the cloud at sunset!! We definitely have some gorgeous sunsets at the lake.
Poor Chris, it was a ROUGH vacation for him. He had a herniated/bulging disk along with a lateral shift (basically his spine started to curve to the right). He was in a lot of pain and couldn’t do very much other than try to relax and ice his back. :(
Checking out Papa’s boat before launching it in the lake…
Love this one…
Playing in the “sandbox” until dark… Staying up way past bedtime is a joy of the cabin!
Nana with her boys!
The boat is in!
The kiddos with their cups collecting fresh spring water. Who knew drinking water was SO fun!
These two are about 7 months apart and good buddies!
Jesse was working on some molars so he (along with daddy) had a bit of a rough week. He was content if he was being held by mommy or in his stroller watching the big kids.
He got lots of attention from his cousins, too!!
Auntie Erica giving endless pushes on the swing.
Meals are so much more fun with…
cousins!!!
They’ve had SOOOOOOO much rain up at the cabin that the lake is super, super high. My dad worked really hard to create a nice swimming area since the beach was completely underwater. It was the year to wear water shoes so you didn’t feel all the extra seaweed!! :)
Floating on rafts worked, too!
Jesse had fun in the water, but also hung out in here a little bit watching everyone else.
My nieces are amazing little water skiers! They are so brave!
Constant playmates is one of the best parts of our time at the cabin.
Love evenings at the cabin!
This picture cracks me up… there was lots of reading and e-reading at the cabin!
I found a spot where Jesse was happy as a clam! On the boat in the boat lift. He could move around and watch everyone on the dock and in the water.
Sailing!
We celebrated Jesse’s birthday at the cabin with an Olympic theme! Everyone humored me by wearing red, white, and blue and we enjoyed olympic games and a patriotic theme!
All the cousins in their red, white, and blue!
The Birthday Boy!!
Boat rides are my favorite!
Cutest little three-year-old I know!
Sweet brothers!
LOVE those smiles. :)
Asher cozied up with Auntie and Uncle for a picture.
My dad can not only STILL water-ski…
He can drop one ski!
Seriously showing up the rest of us! Amazing!
Asher’s first fish!!
All the cousins lined up on the couch!
Thanks, Mom and Dad for another wonderful week at the cabin. Thanks for all the hard work you always put in before we arrive, the whole time we’re there, and for weeks after we leave. It’s more than just a week-long vacation, it’s definitely where we make family memories year after year. :) Love you!
