Life Lately…

Obviously, from my lack of blogging, life has been busy lately  Here’s a quick recap of what we’ve been up to!

On our way home from the cabin we stayed 1 night in the Wisconsin Dells and had SO much fun at our hotel/waterpark.  There was WAY more to do than time to do it… so hopefully we’ll go back again soon! 

On a whim I somehow convinced Chris that we should paint the playroom… He’s a good man and agreed to a “quick” project that was supposed to only take one night and one coat of paint that we already had.  Of course, it ended up REALLY taking two days, buying extra paint, and several coats… :)  Thankfully we’re happy with the outcome!  Keeping with home projects we moved Asher up to a twin bed.  Asher helped Chris assemble his new bed.

After they left the cabin, and before the headed for their home my sister and her family came for a visit!  We had fun taking them to our Children’s Museum… 

…and the Indiana State Fair!

We’ve finished out the summer with lots of playtime outside.  We’re just not QUITE ready to send Daddy back to school for the year.  :(

We’ve also spent lots of time watching the olympics!  I’m bummed that it’s almost over, but HOPEFULLY it means we’ll all get some more sleep…  too many late nights up watching gymnastics and swimming!!! 

Jesse has made an olympic event out of climbing!  I’ve heard of these kinds of kids… but hadn’t experienced one yet!  He is keeping us ON OUR TOES with his climbing skills.  I turn my back for a second and find him practically scaling the walls.  Always something!  (I love that can see Jesse’s curls in this picture…  Even though he needs a trim I am SO not wanting to cut them off!)

Lately Asher has been really into helping me cook and bake.  Here he is taking his job of buttering the pancakes VERY seriously.  He kept saying, “We’re makers, aren’t we Mommy?!”  :)  Love my little maker-boy!

One thing that we haven’t been doing too much of this summer is… NAPPING!  ;)  It’s taken ALL summer, but Asher finally hit the 10-nap mark and last night we celebrated with frozen yogurt and lots of “sprinklers” and toppings!  (This mommy is SO not ready for naps to be over….)

Phew!  I think I’m mostly caught up, though I’m sure I’ve forgotten a few things.  As much as we’re not ready to say good-bye to summer time marches on and I sure am excited for the prospect of FALL, cooler temps, the return of football and the change of seasons!!  Asher’s first day of Pre-K is a few weeks away and I can hardly believe my baby is SO big!!!
