Thanksgiving weekend was so busy and fun, but I realize there were a few “big” things for Asher that I neglected to blog about and I want to go back and document them now for my own memory.
The first was Asher going to the ‘real’ dentist for the first time!! He has gone twice before (once the pediatric dentist that didn’t go really well, though he left with a loot of toys and trinkets) and then he had a quick visit to our dentist when we thought his front teeth had become loose after falling. Neither time did they actually try to clean his teeth and he wouldn’t even let them recline the chair. He was definitely NOT a fan!
Chris and I both really like our dentist and Asher seemed to do okay with him so we made the switch from the pediatric dentist. The real ‘test’ for me was going to be his first visit and cleaning appointment. Thankfully, my parents were in town so I didn’t need to bring Jesse along. But to my HUGE surprise… Asher did awesome!!!! The hygienist turned on Tom and Jerry and Asher was good-to-go!!! (Have to laugh considering I remember I just loved that my dentist growing up had windows that faced out to a woods so I could watch the birds up in the trees…. kids today have it so easy!!) ;) He sat so still and let her do everything. I was shocked and so proud of him!
Anyway, here is a picture of our rock-star at the dentist!
… And the other thing I want to remember is this sweet moment where Asher was riding bikes with the neighbor kids. All the kids on our cul-de-sac are older than our boys, but they are SO sweet with them. Asher and his buddy (who is in 2nd grade) love to ride bikes together and it makes my heart swell when I see my little boy growing up right. before. my. eyes!
He looks so little compared to the other kids, but he had fun trying to keep up! :)
