Jesse is very into hugs right now. We all like to be on the receiving end of those sweet hugs, but Asher and Daisy are usually the lucky ones!
I love the little “awwww” that Jesse says when he is giving hugs.

It’s a snowy day here in Indy! Not snowy enough to keep Daddy home from school, but snowy enough to wear PJ’s longer than normal and spend lots of time playing, snuggling, and reading books. Yesterday we didn’t even leave the house! Today we only ventured as far as Target. And as much as I love warm weather and sunshine I sure do love days like today when I’m snuggled at home with these two…
We’re always so glad when Friday rolls around and we have Chris here all weekend. He even has Monday off so we’re especially excited for this long weekend together! I just wanted to share some recent pictures of Asher. He is such a goofball these days. He is always smiling, laughing, or dancing (or a combination of all three!) He’s a chatterbox and a cruising machine. He continues to take a few steps here and there… We’re getting so close to having a walker on our hands!!
Asher’s birthday present from the Shively’s and Gant’s arrived the other day!! We’re so excited to set up and start playing with our new sand and water table! Thank you!! We love you all!
Last night during his bath, Asher leaned over to drink the water and ended up with a Santa Claus beard!
Asher has been standing for a while, but he’s gotten so much steadier these days. Today he took a few steps until Daisy got in his way and he landed on her. :)
Speaking of Daisy… she continues to be the world’s best dog for Asher. She sure loves him and is awfully protective of her little buddy.
Newest food discovery:
Asher LOVES lasagna!
Happy Friday!
Before we had this baby…
We had this baby…
Happy 3rd Birthday, Daisy May. You are the sweetest dog and we love you!
Asher is “saying” two words. He continues to say Dada (much to Chris’s delight), and now something that sounds like “Duh” every time Daisy comes into the room. Not sure if he’s actually trying to say Daisy or Doggy since we’ve said both in regard to her. I am trying not to be too depressed that Daisy came before Mama! :) (The /m/ sound is just really hard to make right?!?)
Asher is getting really good at pulling up on any and everything. We still try to anticipate which things are too wobbly to support him by holding them steady, but lots of tumbles and bumps are inevitable.
He isn’t cruising on the furniture too much yet, but he will take a few steps as he holds on to the couch or the exercauser if something he wants is out of reach.
Our little boy is growing up SO fast!
I attempted to take some pictures of Asher and Daisy for our Christmas card. I think I got some good ones, but I like the “out-takes” too! So here are a few shots you won’t see on the Atkinson Christmas card…
Daisy was so good and even tolerated me putting a bow around her neck…
I have been without my computer for a few weeks now… which really hasn’t been too bad because I have my i-pod touch and if I was every really desperate I used Chris’s Mac (well, technically “our” Mac… but I’m more of a PC girl.) :) Why you might ask… well, back when Daisy looked more like this:
Than the sweet, laid back, non-hyper dog that she is today. She decided the power cord to the laptop looked like a good chew toy. (Actually everything looked like a chew toy to her in the beginning.) Chris did a good patch job with electric tape, but that fell apart a few weeks ago so we were forced to find a new one. After a few failed attempts Amazon came through for us and I’m happy to say that the new cord is charging up my laptop as I speak type.
Anyway, as a result of little to no computer access I’ve neglected to upload pics and information on our growing boy. Its hard to believe life before Asher and even harder to believe how fast the past four months have flown by! I totally get the “don’t blink” advice now!
Tomorrow Asher turns four months old so I’ll do his official four month picture in the blue chair and post all his stats then. I just wanted to do a quick update and let all my loyal readers :) know we’re back in business.
In the meantime here are a few snapshots of our sweet boy who finally decided to roll over!
SUCCESS!!!
Thanks Nana and Papa for the fun new tummy time play mat that helped get the ball boy rolling! I’ve been saving that pun for a few days now. Sorry! :)
