How did I NOT think of this sooner?!
This is how I bought a few minutes to actually finish folding the laundry that had been in that basket for a few hours days.
And there he sat, happy as a clam!

As forecasted we got lots of snow today! It was the heavy, wet kind of snow– perfect for making a snowman, going sledding, or…
just admiring it from inside!
*Oh, and technically Asher can’t get to a standing position by himself (yet)! But he sure is trying. Chris helped him stand up while I snapped a quick picture. He is getting close to being able to do this on his own!
After going out to lunch yesterday I crawled in the backseat to snap some pictures of Asher in his new carseat.
I love the second one because he’s looking at himself in the mirror! :) I think he really enjoys being up higher and having a better view out the window.
Today, Asher and I had lunch with my friend, Kim and her brand-new baby, Logan. Logan is just 7 weeks old and SO precious! He slept the whole time we ate and Asher sat in the high chair and ate fistfuls of cheerios. :)
Kim and I taught together at HCS and had a special bond as we both waited (and waited) to be blessed with babies. She was a great support to me, and I’m SO thankful that we’re both happily at home with our little boys this year! Kim and her husband were pretty far into the adoption process when they found out they were expecting (!!) so they’ll complete their adoption when Logan gets a little bit older! As a result of their pending African adoption they did an African-themed nursery, so when I found some cute safari-looking fabric I decided to attempt to make a baby blanket for their new little boy…
When I showed Chris he thought it was for Asher so I decided to make a second one (a little bit smaller) for Asher too.
It was fun to get out and see a friend and meet her sweet little boy; and even more special to think of the faithfulness of our Lord in these two precious faces…
“For this child I prayed, and the LORD has granted me my petition that I made to him.” I Samuel 1:27
Just for fun, here is a short video of Asher eating lunch today. I love when he starts to “talk” to me toward the end… :)
After much deliberation we finally ordered Asher’s convertible carseat. I had no idea how much time and energy I would put into looking for his carseat, but when I thought about the worst case scenario I wanted to make sure Asher would be as safe as possible!
He seems to like his new car seat! And I don’t blame him, he was starting to get pretty squished in his infant car seat!! :)
We’ll get it installed in the van this weekend. I’m sure it will make running errands a whole new ballgame as we won’t be lugging the infant carseat around anymore! :)
