Make a joyful noise!

Here’s a sampling of some of Asher’s new favorite songs.  It makes my heart SO happy to hear him sing these songs, even if it is over the monitor while he should be napping.  :)  He’s being a little bit silly in the video, but you still get the idea…  Enjoy!

Just Dance!

Here are some recent videos of our little Dancing King.  We have NO CLUE where he got these moves, but we think they are pretty awesome.  ;) 

Forgive the poor camera work on this one… I was trying to subtly tape Asher.  He knows now when we are taping him and he will stop what he is doing to come see the video.  Hopefully we’re not raising too vain of a child!  ;)

Moo! Baa! La La La!

Okay, the title is for all of you who like the Sandra Boynton books!  :)  Asher is really into animal sounds right now.  We’ve been saying, “Ruff Ruff Ruff” for weeks now, but he’s recently added “Moo” and “Roar.”  He’s attempting “Quack Quack” and “Cluck Cluck,” but those are hard!  ;) 

Yesterday I was in line at the post office and he was obviously trying to impress the woman in line behind us because he kept saying “Ruff Ruff, Roar, Moo” (over and over)  and then waving.  I kept trying to shift him or turn him around, but he was persistent.  She was a little too preoccupied with her own kids to notice him or give him the positive feedback he was looking for!  I was cracking up though!

Every time I try to get him to say his animal sounds on video he is off and running so I thought I’d try today when I had him contained.  Eating lunch makes it a little bit hard to enunciate, but you get the general idea.  And can you guess which sound is his favorite?

And we also got in our body parts.  I promise, he knows his nose!  ;)

uh-oh

We have started letting Asher watch a little bit of TV.  Initially we showed him a few Elmo clips on YouTube… then we would let him watch a few minutes of PBS kids in the morning.  He loves TV!  I guess most kids do!  His favorite is Barney (much to his mom and dad’s displeasure), but he also LOVES Elmo. :) Today we found out that not only does he love TV, he knows how to turn it on all by himself… uh-oh!  We finally took a video of him turning it on after he had done it several times.  I’m the one recording, and I’m holding the remote so I turn it off in the end.  It’s hard to hear, but you’ll notice that he starts dancing immediately!  And even though it looks/sounds like he’s watching mtv it’s just Saturday morning cartoons.

Videos (finally)

Here are some recent iPhone videos of Asher  for the grandmas and grandpas (and anyone else who might find them interesting…)  :) 

Please ignore the dorky socks.  This was right before bed so I had them pulled up in hopes that they would stay on all night.  :)  Anyway, here is our little walking machine about a week ago… he’s even better, faster, and steadier now!  Look out world!

We went to the zoo on Saturday for the opening of the new Cheetah exhibit.  It was SO neat!  It was in the 90’s on Saturday, so it did feel a bit like actually being in Africa! Can you guess which one of us was more excited about seeing the cheetahs?!  :)

After the zoo we walked over to the White River Gardens where Asher loved splashing in this little fountain.

Here is Asher working on his spoon-skills.  :)  Sometimes he lets me feed him without a fight, but usually he wants to “help” these days.
