Here is my most favorite 15-month old boy!!
Sizes:
Clothes: 18 month
Shoes: still size 5… but it looks like we’re almost to a 6! I’ve been holding off going to Stride Rite until the kids are back in school so it won’t be full of back-to-school shoppers! :)
Diapers: Size 4
Food:
Breakfast: Any combination of: eggos, toast, scrambled eggs, pancakes, and fruit.
Lunch: Chicken Nuggets, Quesadillas, Grilled Cheese (sometimes with ham), Mac and Cheese, with fruits and veggies and usually a yogurt.
Dinner: Typically Asher eats what we eat, but if I’ve made something spicy he has something along the lines of lunch. :)
This past month Asher fell completely in love with Michigan Blueberries. He’s had normal blueberries before, but never the plump berries from my home-state. He and I were eating them faster than I could wash them! Yum!!
Personality:
Asher has become so much more affectionate this past month. He likes to give hugs with a big squeeze and a pat on the back. He has been hugging for a while, but they were really hit or miss. He gives them out quite freely to me and Chris these days. He’s also started kissing, but those are a little more infrequent. Though when he’s in a “kissy” mood everyone gets kisses… mommy, daddy, Elmo, Daisy… ;)
Asher jabbers all day long. His vocabulary is full of words only he knows and a few we know! (mama, daddy, Daisy, elmo etc.) He will mimic us and sometimes it’s really clear. He must like the ‘b’ sound because he can also say “blue” and “ball.”
He is still a dancer. He likes to wave his hands in the air, bounce, go in circles, sway, you-name-it. He’s a dancer and we love it! He also loves to clap all of a sudden. He thinks its hilarious if we are somewhere where everyone is clapping (like church worship) and he joins in. We clap and cheer about almost everything here at home. ;)
Favorite Things:
*Shoes and Socks. Seriously, he’s obsessed. He like to pick up our shoes and bring them to us all day long. We try to keep them in the laundry room or in the closet, but if he gets to them he’s a happy camper! He loves to wear socks and will bring them to me if they fall off.
*Hugs and pats! He likes to give “pats” on the back, arm, or head. And he LOVES to give Daisy pats too! I’m so glad he’s learned how to do this because his pats are much gentler than how he used to attack her! :)
*Elmo and Barney. He has lots of Elmo books and toys, but just Barney DVDs. He carries the DVD cases around like they are toys. We have been looking for a Barney book, but can’t find them anywhere?!?! How strange is that?
*Books! We love that he is so excited about books! I took him to the library for the first time this week and he was like a kid in a candy store! I see many more trips to the library in our future!
(I love that he looks like a blur because that’s how he felt! He was running up and down the rows grabbing books! I got a work-out, that’s for sure!) :)
*His Pacifier – it makes night-time and nap-time a breeze since he can’t wait to get a hold of his paci’s! :)
Earlier this month Asher was struggling with naps, but I think it was mostly due to a cold. He goes down for his nap right after lunch and will sleep about 2 hours. He goes to bed between 6:45 and 7:30 and sleeps until 7:30 or 8:00 the next morning. Sometimes he’ll sleep longer, but those days are few and far between lately. :)
In general, life is just SO MUCH BUSIER with a 15 month old toddler! As rewarding as this stage of life is it is also hard! I love Asher’s personality. I love his hugs and kisses. I love his giggles. I love when he dances and ‘sings’ songs. I love when I catch him sitting with a book ‘reading’ and turning the pages. I truly love spending every moment of the day with him. We are still getting the hang of how to handle melt-downs and tantrums. What works one day might not work the next. Taking the good with the bad… one of the many joys of parenting! :)
We LOVE YOU Asher! We thank the Lord for you every day! xo xo Mommy and Daddy
Such a sweet post! You are such a wonderful mom to Asher, he is so blessed to have a mommy like you. I love watching him grow up :)
