I do believe the Atkinson Family picked the BEST DAY to attend the Indiana State Fair!!! After an oppressive heat wave we attended the fair on a warm (but not hot) evening that even had some cool (but not cold) breezes. It was SIMPLY. BEAUTIFUL. SUMMER. WEATHER! Plus, it was $2 Tuesday so we didn’t spend a fortune either. Woo Hoo! Hard to believe that at last year’s State Fair Asher looked like this:
And this year he looked like this:
This year was a whole new ballgame with a toddler! He loved it all and I think he had as much fun people-watching and eating as we did!
Checking out the goats and pigs in the petting zoo…
In the Swine Barn we had to see the World’s Largest Pig! I apologize to “Tickle Me Elmo III” (Do you think I could make that name up?) There really is no good angle for a picture… and the camera adds ten pounds.
Let’s just say that the piglets were MUCH cuter! :)
Moving on to Cow Barn…
We did watch a little bit of a horse show, but I don’t have any pictures of that. After the animals we went and got our freebies in the Expo Hall! Ha! Actually I think we only left with two yard sticks. :) Once we came out the parade was starting and Asher was pretty interested in all the tractors. I LOVE this picture because if you look closely you can see how dirty his face is from all the good fair food!
A parade of tractors…
And what parade is complete without a remote controlled pig!?!
Such a fun way to bid farewell to summer!
Looks like fun!!! Love the comparision picture at the top ;)
