Today we took advantage of the Smithsonian Institute’s “Free Museum Day” and spent the morning at Conner Prairie.
It is a settlement from the 1800’s complete with log cabins, a blacksmith, a general store, etc. and lots of animals! Asher’s love for dogs appears to have translated into just about any four-legged animal. This was Chris’s umpteenth visit to Conner Prairie (as he’s gone several times on field trips), but surprisingly, it was my first visit (other than Symphony on the Prairie)! The day was perfect – in the mid-sixties and seventies while we were there – and a bright sunny sky with puffy white clouds.
Asher loved the goats!
Checking out the baby chicks!
Up close and personal with the cow…
Perhaps a little too close and personal!
A view of the prairie
When he wasn’t being chauffeured in his wagon Asher was off and running!
Checking out the sheep…
Wondering where my ‘baby’ went?!
Our little pioneer-boy. |
Enjoying both wagons!
Unfortunately I don’t have any pictures of the apple donuts, apple cider slushy, or the caramel apple that we may or may not have gotten on the way out! ;)
It was a great day spent with my two favorite guys. Welcome, Fall! We’re SO glad you're here!
