Asher Joseph you are 18 months old! I can hardly believe it!
You are in a t-shirt on November 11 because it is about 75 degrees outside!! We’re having amazingly warm weather and it’s hard to believe that Thanksgiving and Christmas are only a few weeks away!
Asher you are halfway between one and two! You are the sweetest and funniest little boy, and I have the BEST job in the world!! Here’s what you’re up to these days…
Sizes:
clothes – 18-24 month
shoes – 5.5
diapers – 4 (size 5 overnights)
Food:
You are hit or miss with food. Some days you will gobble your veggies and other days you toss them to Daisy or push them around on your tray. You are really good at eating things you like though! YoToddler Yogurt, String Cheese, Bread, Lunch Meat, Chicken Nuggets, and Applesauce are almost always a hit!
contrary to the costume…
Asher has yet to eat a cheeseburger!
Personality:
You are a little ham. You like to entertain and if you know we are laughing at you, you will stop and laugh or clap at yourself. You are goofy, goofy, goofy – and we love it!
You chatter and make your animal sounds all day long. You notice animals EVERYWHERE we go. Even if you see the tiniest picture of a cow on something at the store you will “MOO!” your heart out. :)
We love to communicate with you! Your “real” words include car, mo, bath, toons, mommy, daddy, Daisy, doggy, fish, kitty, eyes, nose, two, go, no, yes, oink, moo, roar, neigh, cluck, ruff, ball, book and I’m sure I’m forgetting some others… You WILL NOT say “meow” you can say “kitty” and I’ve been trying for weeks, but you are stubborn about that one. ;)
Your signs include: more, please, and all done. Although…. I’m not entirely sure you know exactly what they mean because if you REALLY want something you will just sign all three rapid fire. It’s pretty cute!
Favorite Things:
* “Toons” as you call them. You get to watch cartoons in the morning while I make your breakfast and I think this is the highlight of your whole day. You have started to sing along with the cartoons and repeat words and letter sounds! This makes me feel a little bit better about letting you watch them… ;)
* Brushing your teeth. You love your toothbrush because Elmo is on it, and you love your toothpaste because there is a lion on it!
* Dogs! Today at the park you met the sweetest Great Dane. You were in Heaven and gave him lots of hugs. He was probably 4 x your size, but you weren’t nervous one bit!
* “Mo” which means Elmo. You love him and love your Mo Sippy Cups.
* Books! You are a little reader! I love to catch you sitting with a book and turning the pages.
*Baths! If we say it’s time for bath you will go and stand at the door to the bathroom signing “Please” over and over. Sometimes during the day you will just request them. It’s hard to tell you no when you are very sweetly signing “Please!” :)
Sleep:
The time change as thrown you off a little bit on your sleep habits… but hopefully we’ll get all caught up soon! Before the time change you were sleeping until about 8 or 8:30 in the mornings. It was wonderful! Now you’re waking up about 7:30.
Asher, you are right on the cusp of no longer being a baby at all. Sometimes when I’m holding you before bed I catch a glimpse of the little baby who used to snuggle in my arms. Most of the day I am so in awe of how big you have become that it’s hard to remember what you were like not too long ago! Asher we love you to pieces and pieces. 18 months ago I had absolutely no idea how in love I could be with a little boy. I am so thankful to Jesus for such a precious gift! WE LOVE YOU!
In our half birthday tradition here is Asher enjoying his 1/2 a birthday cake!!
Here he was last year!
Happy 18 months, Little Boy! We can’t wait to see what the next 18 months bring!
18 months old was a favorite month of ours with Graham! Enjoy that age- so, so, so precious. =)
