There is NOTHING like trying to sell your house to make you find all it’s flaws… and there is nothing like searching the real estate websites that will make you think all other homes are perfect! :) Obviously, I can see how crazy those statements are as I type them, but it’s hard to reign in my daily thoughts on the matter. But just the other day as we pulled into our garage I looked at Asher in the mirror just in time to see him flail open his arms and say “HOME!” I felt tears well up as I was overcome with his joy to be back at the place that meant, Mommy, Daddy, Daisy, food, toys, and love. :) He didn’t see a house that was too small or a garage that was too crowded. He just saw HOME!
Someday (Lord willing) we will sell this house. And I’m sure on that day I’ll get nostalgic thinking about planting the lilac bushes, playing with our new puppy in the yard, painting the stripes in my son’s bedroom, and eventually bringing home our sweetest boy snuggled in his carseat…
So, in the meantime, I will try to strike a balance between the desire to sell or house while I still find joy in this place that offers us SO much more than just a roof and protection from the elements. I am SO thankful for our HOME and even more thankful for the people who live inside!
