Chris had MLK Jr. Day off and I heard that all the museums downtown were free in honor of the holiday. I thought it would be so fun to go to the children’s museum with Chris and Asher since it was free and Chris would be home for the day…
APPARENTLY the rest of Indianapolis also had the same idea because it was PACKED. We arrived at 10 when the museum opened and got one of the last parking spots on the top level of the parking garage. Chris was less than thrilled about the crowds, but remained a good sport. We were finally walking into the museum about 10:30.
Since Asher is so young he doesn’t really care of about most of the exhibits so we decided to hit up the dinosaurs, the train, and then the Pre-K playscape area. We stuck to the plan, and I’m glad we arrived early because after three spots the museum was SO full you could hardly move. When we left 1 hour later the garage and parking lot were full and there were still people streaming in.
I have to say for all the craziness Asher has NOT stopped talking about the dinosaurs, the choo choo, and the tunnel (in the playscape area) since being home. Definitely makes it all worth it to me. Chris did say that he’d rather just pay next time to avoid the crowds, and I’d have to say I definitely agree. :)
Here are some pictures of our adventure!
Asher in the dinosaur exhibit a bit overwhelmed by all the people…
He LOVED the trains!
At the playscape… his favorite!
The rest of the day and into today he has chattered about the museum. I caught a bit of it on my iPhone last night…
Sounds like Asher had a great time! It's so fun to hear him talk :)
