I’m so thankful for keeping this record of our life – I’m sure some of my posts aren’t super exciting to non-family members, but it’s such a great reminder of what we are doing from day to day and year to year. For example, neither Chris nor I could remember what we did last Valentine’s Day (must have been really romantic, huh?) So I checked the blog! :)
This V-day celebration started over the weekend when Chris and I went to dinner and a movie. We saw the King’s Speech and were completely blown away by the movie. It was fantastic!! We had a yummy dinner and had fun just talking and laughing together. Grandma and Grandpa Atkinson came to watch Asher. We are so blessed by two sets of parents who love us and love Asher so much. I have a hard time leaving him at the church nursery, but when I know he’s with his grandparents I never have a second thought about his safety or well-being!
Today we spent a day of celebrating our LOVE for each other. (Chris goes along as best as he can, though he does think today is a bit of a Hallmark holiday). I just love any chance to make an ordinary day fun or festive.
Asher woke up to an Elmo balloon and presents. Between his gifts from us and his grandparents he probably thought today was his birthday!
Reading his new Thomas book and waiting on Mommy to make a breakfast of…
Heart Pancakes!
Lunch was our favorite of mac and cheese and a heart shaped PB&J sandwich.
Dinner was not nearly as exciting… but we had yummy V-day treats for dessert. (Cake Ball Pops and Chocolate Covered Strawberries!)
We took a picture of Asher with all his V-day loot… he was too busy looking at everything to smile!
After dinner Asher was a wild man playing like crazy and goofing off for all his grandparents on skype.
My sweet hubby brought home flowers, m&m’s, and jewelry! If you’ve never seen Holly (May) Pelz’s jewelry (Mayfly Design) you should check it out! She is SO talented, and I’ve wanted to order something for a long time so I finally had the great idea to ask for a ring for Valentine’s Day, but not just ANY ring… it’s the Lindsay ring and I love it! :)
Hope you had a LOVELY Valentine’s Day!
I LOVE how you made yesterday a special day :)
