I wrote up a reflective blog post on turning (gasp) 30… but it’s on my old computer and instead of wasting time trying to get it on my new computer I’ll skip it for now and just share a recap and some pictures of my fun day!
My sweet husband has been mulling over what to get me for my birthday for a long time and I wasn’t much help with ideas. However, my old computer was duct taped together and starting to lose some keys. It was also his old computer so it was already a hand-me-down. SOOOOO Chris decided to get me a new laptop for my birthday! My in-laws joined in on the present and now I have a beautiful new computer that my techy husband picked out and set up just for me. I love it! :)
In the morning when I woke Asher up I told him it was Mommy’s Birthday to which he replied, “Cake? Cake! Cake! Cake!” :) The kid has got his priorities straight! Chris was sweet enough to take a half day so I could go get a pedicure (!!) so after a fun morning with my little buddy who alternated between asking for cake and wishing me a happy birthday ;) I was off to the spa! After that I had about an hour to ‘kill’ all by myself!! So I went shopping! After that I had a doctor’s appt. and got to hear the sweet woosh woosh woosh of baby brother’s heartbeat. The best part of the appt. is I that I was in and out in 20 minutes flat! I love quick appointments! Chris and Asher took me out to Red Robin for my birthday dinner. We opted to go kid-friendly since eating out with Asher these days is a bit hit or miss. Chris and I are going to go out for a real lunch or dinner this weekend and I’m so excited! :) We came home and had chocolate cake and I spent lots of time on the phone being serenaded by family members. All in all it was a fantastic day! I loved all my cards, FB messages, emails, text messages, and phone calls… I am truly SO blessed with a wonderful husband, a healthy and happy little boy, and family and friends all of whom love me and bring so much joy to my life! My cup overflows!
Here are a few shots of our birthday celebrating…
