A first I could have skipped…

Today we experienced our first ER visit with Asher.  He cut his head when he fell down and after lots of debating if the cut was stitch-worthy (including lots of texts, phone calls, and pictures taken) we decided it was better to safe than sorry.  Chris came home from work and my sweet friend Kristen came over to stay with Jesse.  I’m SO thankful that Chris and I could both be at the hospital with Asher and just focus on keeping him calm and comfortable.

The outcome was 1 staple (and lots of treats).  Thankful for a great doctor and really kind and helpful nurses.  We were the only ones in the ER so I think we got lots of special treatment… But who wouldn’t want to be extra helpful and sweet to such a cute patient?!

We asked Asher what the best part of going to the hospital was (thinking he’d say the popsicle), but appropriately, he replied, “When we got to leave!”  Ha!  I couldn’t agree more.

Here’s to our first (but probably not last) trip to the ER…

  1. Aw! Poor guy!! Kalen and I prayed for Asher when we saw the pic Chris posted. Glad all is well and it wasn't worse! Funny side note, Kalen wondered why Asher had "his" doggie! Kalen had the same one it's always by his side! :)

    1. Oh Suzy, that is SO sweet! Thank you for praying for Asher. He did such a good job, but it is NOT fun to feel so helpless when you're child is in pain. Makes me thankful for typically healthy kids!
I laughed about the puppy comment... I have another friend who has three at her house since her daughter is SO attached to her IKEA dog - that way if they ever lose one or have to wash one they have extras. :)
I think it would be really fun to get Asher and Kalen together -- we should meet up at the museum one day! :)
