We spent our 1 full day in Orlando at THE MAGIC KINGDOM! I’ve been excited to take our kids there for my whole life and the day had finally come. :) The forecast wasn’t great, but we were determined to have fun no matter what. We woke up to rain pounding on our resort roof, but we pressed on… The rain stopped and it was just a damp morning, the upside of that was less people and shorter lines! We arrived by 7:20 and had 40 minutes of our “extra magic hour” to do as much as possible.
We walked briskly to Fantasyland and rode everything we wanted to! We pretty much walked onto EVERY RIDE! Our wait times were so short and we never just stood still. It was awesome and completely unheard of during spring break season!! We rode Peter Pan, Pooh, the Teacups (twice), Dumbo, Barnstormer, and met Donald and Goofy.
Kinda blurry, but I love, love, love the joy on his face in those pics!
A very serious Jesse was not a fan of Dumbo!
His big brother had the opposite reaction…
Checking out some circus trains while daddy and Asher rode barnstormer!
Flexing our muscles with Goofy!
A very sweet picture with Donald. {One of my absolute favorites from our whole day!}
Next stop: Tomorrowland!! Our first stop was the Tomorrowland Speedway, then Buzz Lightyear, and finally the space orbiters.
Proof the sun came out… we’re squinting!!!
Buzz!
As we headed toward Main Street we were greeted by the Street Dance Parade which was SO fun!
Couldn’t have asked for a better viewing spot or backdrop!
After that it was time to meet Mickey!!!! When we arrived I was bummed to see a 70 minute wait time… but then I realized that was for the princesses! The wait for Mickey was just 10 minutes! :) Score!
Asher was SO excited to meet Mickey!
Playing Peek-a-boo with Mickey!
One last hug!
We walked around enjoyed the Swiss Family Tree house and Aladdin’s magic carpet ride before heading back to Main Street for the parade and to meet up with my parents.
Heading to the Swiss Family Robinson Tree House!
The parade!!
I love the picture of Asher where he is holding up his Mickey sticker. He was showing Mickey (on the float) his sticker. Too sweet for words!
And this is how Jesse felt about the parade…
Sweet boy grabbed a cat nap before lunch at Crystal Palace! It wouldn’t be a trip to Disney without a picture of a child sleeping during a loud and crazy parade, right??
We met up with my parents just in time for lunch at the Crystal Palace… it was soooo fun and yummy! We met all the characters from Pooh. Jesse completely freaked out at first, but slowly got the hang of it. He didn’t want to get close enough for any pictures though.
Papa captured this shot of Asher looking out at the castle, another favorite!
Not a bad view from our table, huh?!
Jesse was feeling much safer sitting in laps at lunch…
Oh, the piglet hug – melts my heart!
What I love about all the pictures where Asher is posing with a character is his true smile. He just exudes happiness in all these pics and I didn’t have to say, “Smile!” or “Look at the camera!” He was 100% into it, and having fun. Love it!
What could possibly be better than being in Disney world WITH your grandparents? Asher was on cloud nine!
During lunch it started to POUR!!!! Unfortunately this is the only picture I got with Nana and Papa and 1 boy in front of the castle.
Papa sporting his “souvenir” an $8 poncho!!! ;)
We made a bee-line for the Philharmagic and we loved it. I was worried Jess would freak out, but he did great! Asher is still talking about the movie where Donald fell out of the screen. :) After that… It’s a Small World! (Which might have been my favorite of the whole day.) It was just as sweet as I remembered it!
I love how mesmerized both Nana and Asher look!
Jesse loved it!
Me and my dad!
After that, we checked out the new part of Fantasyland with Gaston’s Tavern and we tried to talk Asher into the new Little Mermaid ride, he wasn’t having any of it… he didn’t want anything to do with the princesses. :) The wait time was a bit long so we didn’t argue when he wanted to pass!
A quick spin on the carousel before leaving Fantasyland for the day…
At this point we had done everything on our “list” so we just enjoyed the rest of our time as we wandered around, took pictures, ate ice cream, and rode a few more rides like the train, the tiki room, and we used the fast pass for the Jungle Boat cruise.
Our boys were still happy and smiling 13 hours later (Jesse napped in the stroller for about 30 minutes, Asher not at all.)
We didn’t make it until the electric parade, but we left Main street as the lights started coming on and enjoyed the beautiful view of the castle. It was a good choice to leave when everyone was still happy. We all crashed that night and slept really well! It was certainly a wonderful and magical day!
