Happy ten-month-old birthday, Asher-boy! The past ten months have been a blur of happy days! Every day with you is a joy and we are loving each new milestone and stage of development. You are wearing 9-12 month clothes and you have 4 teeth, but are working on two more! Here is a run-down of what you’re up to these days…
You are amazingly fast at crawling. When you see something you really want you kick it into supersonic speed. We can hardly catch you sometimes, and you are definitely keeping us on our toes!
You want to stand. all. the. time. You pull up and stand all day long. You are cruising on furniture and you can stand all alone for short periods of time, but no real “steps” yet. You’re favorite thing to do is stand at your book shelf and pull all the books out! :) All the standing is hard when you sometimes lose your balance and fall down (usually bonking your head on the way) or when you’re in the bath tub. Baths are much harder now that we’re trying to hold on to a slippery, squirmy, baby who is standing up and trying to crawl out!
You are eating mostly finger foods. We’re finishing up the baby food I had already prepared… we’ll see if we make any more or if you just move exclusively to “real” food!
Naps have gotten more “interesting” lately. Simply put, you’d rather be out playing with us than sleeping! Some naps you cry or talk the entire time. Thankfully you’re still a good night-time sleeper! :)
You’re a big talker. Dada and Daisy are your favorite words, but if pressed you’ll give me a “mama” once in a while. You also say, “hi” when you wave. It literally melts my heart to see you do this. There is something SO special to us about the fact that we’re communicating now. We say “hi” or “wave to daddy” and you ACTUALLY do it! It’s fun to interact with you, little man! :) You also mimic other words all day long or just babble. We love it.
You are super affectionate. You lean in with big, wet, slobbery kisses/bites quite often. You nestle in our shoulders and snuggle up. Sometimes you’ll stop playing just to crawl over and climb up to give me a “kiss.” Nope, I wouldn’t trade my “day job” for all the money in the world!
This past month has been a rough one for sickness! You had a nasty cold that hung on for almost two weeks. Yuck! Just when we thought it was over you spiked a fever and got a runny nose again. Poor kiddo.
Asher, you are sweet, silly, and absolutely perfect in our books. Before bed I always tell you that mommy and daddy love you, but Jesus loves you the MOST. We pray everyday for your little soul and look forward to the day that you choose to follow Christ. We pray that you will serve Him all the days of your life. We love you Asher, more than we could begin to explain.
Two more months and it’s time for cake!!
LOVE!!! Mommy & Daddy xo xo
PS…
Wow...can't believe how old he is getting. What a cutie pie! So glad he's doing great for you. I hope the nap area improves for you.
