I am thankful for our time spent on vacation in Minnesota. This is the second summer to take Asher to the same cabin I’ve been going to my whole life (my grandpa built it when my dad was growing up). What is lacks in amenities it makes up for in memories!! :) Since I was born in Minnesota and grew up in Michigan I’ve never lived far from water (until moving to the Hoosier state!) I LOVE being near or on the lake and always look forward to getting to the cabin each summer.
Once everyone arrived we kicked off the week with a celebration for my niece’s birthday (at the end of June) complete with party games and a DQ cake!
I love how Asher is pushing his way in to get some of the pinata goodies. :)
We also had a family BBQ on the fourth with our extended family. All week we were blessed with beautiful, sunny, warm weather. It was perfect for lots of swimming, eating, boating, tubing, eating, game-playing, talking, relaxing, eating, reading... Thanks, mom and dad for all your hard work to host us all!

Asher LOVED his floatie, and spent hours in it!
Papa enjoying his floatie too!
One day we had family pictures taken by a local photographer. These were a few of our own shots from that day… can’t wait to see his pictures!
Asher is obviously loving story time. ;)
Despite his serious look, Asher seemed to enjoy being out on the boat!

Our last night’s sunset on beautiful Lake Pokegama!
The hardest part about our trip each year is the drive. It’s 12-15 hours depending on traffic and pit stops. Last year Asher slept most of the trip. Not-so-much this year. ;) We had Barney and Elmo DVDs and made lots of pit stops. Chris was a road warrior and drove all but about 1 hour of the trip. We had a great time in Minnesota, but it sure felt good to crawl into our own bed after our long drive home!! :)
Fun pictures, thanks for sharing! Family time at the cabin looks like so much fun :)
