Today my sweet, hard-working, handsome, fun, loving husband is 30!! (And I’m still 29. Woo hoo!)
Chris, we LOVE you so much! Thank you for being one of the hardest working, determined people I know. You are the perfect dad for Asher and the perfect husband for me and we’re BOTH so glad you’re ours!
30 things about my husband:
1 He’s a big tech nerd, which is great, I have my very own 24/7 tech support.
2 He loves The Ohio State University.
3 He played football through college and has multiple x-rays, set bones, and pins to prove it.
4 He is positive positive positive we’re having another boy! (About as positive as I was that Asher was a girl!)
5 He can laugh on command. The biggest, heartiest, goofiest laugh you’ve ever heard. (Which is super annoying if I’m ever trying to stay mad about something.)
6 He is extremely determined! When he puts his mind to something he doesn’t stop until it’s done!
7 He loves music of all types and has one of the most eclectic musical taste of anyone that I know of.
8 He’s extremely loyal.
9 He can’t remember the first time he met me. (And it was SO not History class at TU.)
10 He has taught all elementary grades but Kindergarten and Second.
11 He loves books, even if he doesn’t have much time for reading these days.
12 He is crazy about our dog. Even though I’m the one who wanted to get her he loves her beyond words!
13 His favorite kind of cake is carrot, but would not eat a “real-live” carrot if his life depended on it.
14 He is notorious for doing hilarious things at school, even if they aren’t funny to him… falling of stools, replacing words in stories etc. I miss all his teaching stories, though his principal stories are pretty great too!
15 He has has a job since he was 14 years old! (Bagging groceries at Kroger)
16 He ALMOST missed our wedding rehearsal. He and all our groomsmen got lost getting to the church (a likely story, I know!) and we almost had to fill his spot with my bridesmaid’s husband, Phil.
17 He loves movies like Lord of the Rings. (snooze)
18 He likes to order new things when we go out to eat, and will almost always order something he hasn’t ever tried.
19 He’s had lots of nicknames over the years. ‘Tank’ in college, ‘Father’ in high school.
20 He likes to listen to sermons while driving in the car. His favorite pastors are Piper, McArthur, Driscoll, and MacArthur.
21 He never wants to own a home with “character” and is all about contemporary architecture with clean lines.
22 He loves to snorkel and is fearless when it comes to it!
23 His favorite meal that I make is my least favorite so whenever we eat it, it’s a total labor of love.
24 He is really good at organizing our house. If I clean, he tidies – it works out well!
25 He can cook! (And he should more often!!)
26 He has a mild obsession with his new Keurig Coffee Pot.
27 He is really picky when it comes to gifts. I don’t think he has kept a single gift I have gotten him (unless he asked for it specifically). He returns most things.
28 He is a manly man despite spending most of his day with women (working in an elementary school). He’s been a part of conversations about what kind of tea will start labor to how good “menopause – the musical” was, just to name a few.
29 He is an awesome father. Asher asks for Daddy all day long and always stops what he’s doing when he hears the garage door go up. Chris can make Asher laugh harder than anyone else.
30 He is my most favorite person in the whole world and that says A LOT because I know a lot of fantastic people. :) I am thankful that he’s my best friend, husband, and leader. I look forward to the next 30+ years!
Thanks babe!
