Sizes:
Clothes: 12-18 month
Shoes: 5
Diapers: Target size 4 (Huggies size 4 overnight diapers)
Food:
Asher seems to be a little bit more picky about food these days. Foods that have always been “favorites” are now a little hit or miss. We’re still working on not throwing food off the high chair tray. ;) Asher loves milk and guzzles it at each meal. Asher tried a few new things on vacation including a malt cup, marshmallows, and fish! He seemed to like them all… go figure!
Personality:
Asher’s still a ham and keeps us laughing all day long. Where last month we were starting to see more of his attitude… this month we’re DEFINITELY seeing it. Hard to believe my sweet little baby boy is starting to be defiant. I need to hurry up and finish reading Shepherding a Child’s Heart! ;) The good thing about this new stage of defiance is that it’s usually over quickly. Re-direction typically works wonders.
Asher continues to be a chatterbox. Sometimes his words are true mimics of what we’re saying and other times they are just a combination of sounds. And speaking of sounds, this boy has learned that his voice can go HIGHER and get LOUDER. Depending on where we are, this can be pretty funny. We’re working on animal sounds these days and I think we’ve almost got “moo” down pat… moving on to “ruff ruff” next. New words this month seem to be Papa and Elmo.
Favorite Things:
*Barney has trumped Elmo these days. Asher is completely smitten with that big purple dinosaur.
*A new “fave” this month was being in the water. Now if we could only find a pool or lake here in Indiana!
*Milk!
*His pacifier! Asher only gets his paci now when he’s in his crib or in the car (and if we’re somewhere like a restaurant or church and need him to be quiet). Since he only gets it in the crib and in the car it has made putting him down to sleep pretty easy these days. He leans for his crib so he can get his paci.
Sleep:
Asher is still a great sleeper and we’re SO thankful! He did a great job of sleeping in his pack and play while in Minnesota and adapted to his new surroundings easily.
The only thing that has proven to consistently mess up his afternoon nap is if he falls asleep in the car while we run errands in the morning. This only happened once at the cabin, otherwise he napped every day which helped stretch him a little bit longer in the evenings. (He typically goes to bed between 6:30 and 7:15 each night.)
Since being home he’s still on Minnesota time and has been sleeping until 9 or 9:30 am! It’s been great, but we fully expect it to end any day now!
Today we got to see Chris’s new office and help him unpack a little bit. It does feel strange that NEITHER of us will be in a classroom this school year, but so exciting!!
14 months, so hard to believe :) Asher is such a cute little guy. I love the "month" picture! Nice office!
