We got up early Christmas morning and Chris made French Toast for us which I have officially declared a new Christmas tradition in our house! They were delish! :) Asher opened his stocking and we hit the road for Cincinnati.
We had a fun Christmas day of opening presents, eating a delicious meal, opening more presents, and just hanging out! Asher napped during the second round of presents which made it nice for Chris and me to relax and open our presents at a leisurely pace.
Someone likes the new Little People farm!
Yippee for new blocks!
Jeff and I were the block-assembler masters!
Jeff and Phyllis with their new travel walking sticks for the next time they find themselves on the side of a mountain.
Joel with his new gift the “Paintrifuge” – there is definitely a story behind this gift, and all I’ll say is when the paintrifuge makes it ‘big’ you heard about it here first.
Liz and lovable Eddy
We took some family pictures using the tripod and the self-timer. It took a few shots each time and I love what happened in the first round:
Eddy jumped up in the picture before we could react…
Now we’re cracking up at the dog (except Jeff and Chris who are maintaining their focus.)
We did get a few great shots (mostly) without dogs:
We spent the rest of our time in Cincy eating (LOTS) of great food, playing games, and relaxing. One day we drove downtown for the Duke Energy Train display, but all those pictures are on Chris’s phone so I’ll have to upload them later. :)
On our way home we made a QUICK stop at IKEA. It was during their big sale so trust me, I wish we could have stayed longer, but we were on a mission for some toy storage. I did sneak in a little fabric though! ;) We also found this adorable Swedish Viking hat for our little Swedish boy.
(Notice the scratch on his face and the teething drool – this child is a mess!) Here he is riding one of his favorite Christmas gifts, Rody…
It’s kind of like a dog-shaped exercise ball for kids. He likes to bounce around on it and fall off. Asher has had a ball with all his new Christmas gifts, it’s been fun to watch him go from one thing to the next all day long. I’m sure thankful for all these fun, new toys to keep us busy for the next few cold months!!
